Quote Builder user guide

Who this is for

Everyone at a landscaping business who uses Quote Builder: estimators, quoting users and reviewers.

What the app is for

Quote Builder helps you price landscaping work and produce quotes for your clients.

  • Your business keeps a rate card: a priced list of the work you do, such as digging out, laying paving or planting a tree. Each rate is built up from labour, plant, materials and other costs.
  • You build a quote by picking rates and entering quantities. The app works out the sell price for every line, using your markup, prelims and any main-contractor discount.
  • Planting is priced from nursery quotes, which you enter on the quote's Nursery list.
  • When the quote is ready you mark it as sent, then download it as a PDF for the client. A sent version is locked, so you always have a record of exactly what the client received.

Quote Builder was built with Beesleys, its first customer, but each business has its own rate card, team and quotes. Nobody outside your business can see your data.

Who can do what

Everyone in a business has one of three roles. If you belong to more than one business, you can have a different role in each.

Platform admins look after Quote Builder as a whole. In every business they act as an estimator. On a computer, the bottom of the sidebar shows "Platform admin" in place of a role, with a Platform admin button. See Platform admin.

  • A page says "Something went wrong" or "This page doesn't exist": see If something goes wrong. These pages have links to the User guide and to Email support.
